Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Eyes, ortho, gender reassignment surgeries (top surgery) ent (tonsils, septoplasty, sinus) general (hernia, thyroidectomy, resections, lap chole), excisions of masses, port placement. -Additional Notes: Punctuality is very important, very fast paced environment, must be confident in time management and assessment skills.

-Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
-Required Certifications: BLS ACLS PALS
-Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Eyes, ortho, gender reassignment surgeries (top surgery) ent (tonsils, septoplasty, sinus) general (hernia, thyroidectomy, resections, lap chole), excisions of masses, port placement.
-Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must be confident in IV insertion
-Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge nurse- dedicated to preop. no house sup. manager available
-Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: CNA's for preop, they will room patients and weight the patient. can get VS.
-EMR: Meditech
-Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 6am-6pm, M-F. attendance and punctuality is very important.
-Weekend Requirements: Not required. can volunteer for Saturdays if interested.
-Holiday/Call Requirements: No
-What is call response time: N/A
-Floating Requirements: Are expected to help in PACU when needed. if no PACU experience they can task.
-Scrub Color/Dress Code: Black scrubs
-Unit/Department specific orientation: Some general facility orientation at start of assignment. 3 days on floor with preceptor
