    Unit Notes
    Clinical Interview prior to offer - no manager interview

    **MUST pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer, through UNA, only (with 2 MAX attempts). If they do not pass in 2 attempts, they will be a DNU for CSH AZ and CSH Sacramento for 6 months.

    PASS/FAIL Sim Lab on day 1 of orientation. If they fail, they will be sent home and made a DNU for 6 months

    Cannot live within 50 miles of the facility - Driver's License must be provided with submittal

    Unit Questions: Tele
    # Beds: 29 Bed Unit, all private rooms
    Nurse:Patient Ratios: 4-5 : 1
    Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EKG
    Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Renal, GI, Sepsis, Mental Health
    Experience or 'Must have' skills: EKG competency, cardiac montoring experience, groin management
    Are RN's required to titrate drips: Manage drips, no titration, drips include Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, Cardizem
    Common titratable &/or set rate drips: see above
    Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Remote Monitor Techs, however, RNs are required to interpret strips and identify rhythm changes. Client Cardiac Monitors
    Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? CN without assignment on both day/noc shift. House Supervisors are in house 24/7 and leader on call 24/7
    Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios: Nurses aides on DAY shift only. Nights is primary patient care in 4:1 assignment
    RT/Equipment (i.e., Cpap, Bipap, High Flow, vents, etc.): RT is available to assist 24/7. MST only takes up to 6L, no Highflow or Bipap on unit. CPAP for Non obstructive sleep apnea only. RNs administer all breathing treatments.
    Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): Shifts 0700-1930, 1900-0730, self scheduling is utilized and staff are placed in a block for all holidays. Schedules are posted 4 weeks prior to start of next four week schedule block. We do not have 'set' schedules, it's a first come first served self scheduling basis and requested shifts may be moved to ensure adequate staffing.

    Is there Call or a Standby requirement? STANDBY SHIFTS ARE REQUIRED, just as they are for regular staff. It doesn't happen often, but we do follow expectations from ***
    Floating Requirements? Typically float within the service line and overflow areas, will not be asked to float to a unit other than their skillset/LOC hired into. Travelers do float first, however, this particular unit is new (not physically) and will require multiple travelers therefore most will not likely float.
    Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided: RN- Navy Blue Scrubs, NO t-shirts. Closed toe shoes. All departments have designated scrub colors, ie: lab is red, radiology is teal, etc.
    Unit/Department Specific Orientation: 2 orientation shifts with a preceptor
    Additional Notes: Travelers love working at CRMC and most return or hire on as core.
