    Description

    Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit

    Location: Onsite - Jackson, MI

    Shift Hours

    • 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

    Schedule Notes

    • OT billed after 48 hours
    • REQUIRED: 2+ years recent experience as a PCU/Stepdown/Tele RN, Experience in medication drips, ACLS and BLS from AHA in hand

    Job Summary

    Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient and family care and education. Effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team and participates in identifying and implementing solutions to variances from patient care goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry setting.

    • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

    • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs.

    • Administer medications and manage medication drips according to established protocols.

    • Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring intervention.

    • Delegate and supervise nursing care appropriately.

    • Provide patient and family education regarding care, treatment, and health management.

    • Communicate pertinent patient information effectively to physicians and other healthcare team members.

    • Identify variances from patient goals and participate in developing and implementing appropriate solutions.

    • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

    • Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

    • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry RN required.

    • Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective nursing care plans.

    • Ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing services.

    • Experience managing and monitoring medication drips.

    • Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills.

    • Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare personnel.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in progressive care, stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute-care environments.

    • Experience caring for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and medication drips.

    Required Certification & Licensure

    • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

    • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

    • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

    • BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and in hand.

    Working Conditions

    Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
