APHON certification required; weekends, Holidays, and Float per department guidelines.
Responsibilities
Provide pediatric oncology and hematology nursing care to patients.
Administer treatments, monitor for adverse effects, and ensure patient safety.
Coordinate care across multi-disciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up.
Track and report clinical outcomes and performance metrics for continuous improvement.
Ensure accurate documentation in electronic health records and compliance with policies.
Proactively identify safety risks and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
Develop and maintain pipelines to forecast patient load, staffing needs, and resource requirements.
Participate in professional development activities to advance clinical skills and knowledge.
Support on-site patient navigation to optimize throughput and reduce wait times.
Contribute to onboarding and mentoring of new staff to promote team performance.
Experience/Qualifications
Active RN license with pediatric oncology/hematology certification preferred.
Experience in pediatric oncology/hematology nursing and chemotherapy administration.
Proficiency in electronic health records documentation and clinical data reporting.
Strong patient and family education skills for treatment plans and procedures.
Patient safety monitoring, adverse event management, and quality assurance participation.
Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate care.
Capacity planning: forecast patient load, staffing, and resource needs.
On-site patient navigation support to improve throughput and reduce wait times.
Ability to mentor new staff and contribute to onboarding processes.
Must be comfortable with performance-based environment and high activity visibility.
