RN Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

• Job Title: RN PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
• Location: Oakland, CA or Roseville, CA
• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Pay: Best in CA state job market (Stipend benefits available for traveler)
• Shift: Day & Night Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patients' conditions, including cardiac and hemodynamic status.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and specialized treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Operate and monitor advanced critical care equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and other life-support devices.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform accurate patient assessments, document clinical findings, and maintain timely electronic medical records.
• Educate patients' families on treatment plans, disease processes, and discharge planning while providing emotional support.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards in the critical care environment.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience
• 3 years of pediatric cardiac experience
• Must have straight PICU experience (no float experience accepted)

Certificate/License Required:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
