    Responsibilities:
    The RN Patient Safety Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of Community Health System (CHS), adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. This position works in tandem with the Quality Department, Physicians, Employee Health, Nursing Leaders, Information Technology, Risk Management, and Infection Prevention assuring quality metrics are held to the highest standard for CHS.
     
    CHS aims to provide and influence excellent patient care, irrespective of injury, illness, or location, through the delivery of high-quality clinical operations and education.
     
    Patient safety is the avoidance of unintended or unexpected harm to people during the provision of health care. Working in conjunction with the Patient Safety Officer, this role assists in setting out an approach to developing and maintaining effective systems and processes for responding to patient safety incidents for the purpose of learning and improving patient safety.
     
    The Clinical Leadership and Patient Safety Team assure safe and effective clinical services through a full range of clinical governance activities, with a core function of producing documents that guide practice, quality assurance of clinical practice, and learning from incidents. The Patient Safety Coordinator works as part of the Patient Safety Team to ensure effective processing of patient safety incidents and coordinate organizational learning.
    Qualifications:
    Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Business, or a Healthcare related field required
    Experience
    • 5 years of clinical practice, safety, quality, or related experience required
    Licenses and Certifications
    • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
    • CPPS - Certified Professional Patient Safety preferred
