    The OR Specialist in Labor & Delivery is responsible for coordinating and supporting operative procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to anticipate surgical team needs, and oversight of equipment, supplies, and sterile processes.     Job Summary

    Your main role as an Operating Room Specialist RN is to follow nursing guidelines for coordinated health care. Assess patients, identify health problems, develop personalized care plans, and monitor responses. Understand patient needs and the healthcare setting to guide them safely. Prevent complications and delays for patients.

    Essential Functions of the Role

    • Prioritize needs of patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
    • Evaluate nursing practices systematically. Participate in initiatives to improve quality and performance.
    • You''ll have an integral role in protecting the rights of patients and their families and representing their concerns.
    • You educate patients, families, and healthcare staff about health practices and treatments to promote understanding in the community.
    • You''ll operate in a collaborative spirit, teaming up with colleagues and the community to provide comprehensive care.
    • Using strategic problem-solving skills, you will address issues for patients, their families, and the healthcare staff.

    Qualifications

    • Grad of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
    • Experience Required - Minimum of 3 years of L&D experience. Will consider 2 years of L&D experience if previous OR experience - Scrub experience preferred
    • Must be a registered nurse
    • Must have Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
