RN - OR - BAPTIST MC (New Orleans, LA)

Registered Nurse – Surgical Services (Ortho/ENT/Plastics/Robotics)

Schedule: 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

Call Requirements: Weekend and weeknight call required 

Experience: 2+ years (DaVinci Robotics experience required)

Role Overview

This role serves as a clinical leader in delivering high‑quality patient care using the Nursing Process and in alignment with the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and professional Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN provides direct patient care, delegates and supports licensed and unlicensed team members, and maintains accountability for patient outcomes. The position requires strong clinical judgment, cultural sensitivity, and active participation in achieving departmental goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (RN Diploma)

• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Experience

• Required:

  • 2+ years of nursing experience

  • Surgical experience in Ortho, ENT, Plastics, or Robotics

  • DaVinci robotic surgery experience

  • Experience handling confidential information

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision

• Preferred:

  • Leadership experience or prior supervisory responsibilities

  • Basic computer proficiency

Certifications & Licensure

• Required:

  • Active RN license in the state of practice

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

• Not Required:

  • ACLS (A document stating ACLS is not required must be uploaded at submission.)

• Preferred:

  • Specialty certification relevant to clinical practice
