    Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
    Assignment Type: (Temporary Contract)
    Shift: Night Shift | 3 x 12-hour shifts/week (no call, no block scheduling)


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced RN Nurse Lead – Labor & Delivery. This is a leadership opportunity. You’ll partner with Nurse Managers, Directors, physicians, and staff to drive excellence in patient care, staff performance, and unit operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise nursing and ancillary staff with professionalism and sound judgment

  • Coordinate and optimize patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams

  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care outcomes

  • Champion patient satisfaction and family-centered care

  • Monitor staffing, patient acuity, and workflow to maximize efficiency

  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate team members—including participation in hiring and discipline

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards

  • Actively participate in patient care as needed


Qualifications/Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)

  • Master’s Degree (preferred)

  • Supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership skills (required)

  • 5+ years of clinical experience (preferred)

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active California RN License (required)

  • BLS (AHA or ARC) – Required

  • ACLS (AHA or ARC) – Required

  • NRP (AHA or ARC) – Required

  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) – Required

  • Specialty certification (preferred)
