Education
• Associate Degree in Nursing required (BSN Preferred) or
• Licensed Practical Nurse required if not ADN


Licenses and Certification
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license
• BLS


Experience and Skills
• Technical Field: 5 years as a Registered Nurse, LPN

Role Specific Responsibilities
• Develop and administer orientation and onboarding for new nursing and clinical staff for the SIH Medical Group
• Assess and document annual and ongoing training and competency requirements for SIH Medical Group nursing and clinical staff
• Proactively identify and respond to needs of the SIH Medical Group to promote quality patient care and safety
• Deliver competency-based programs for nursing and support staff with a focus upon improvement of skills and retention of knowledge
• Develop and provide educational opportunities that benefit clinical staff at all stages of their career development and learning needs
• Assist with the development of IT training materials as it relates to nursing and support staff; ensure staff are educated and trained to changes in the EHR
• Plan, prepare and maintain materials for use in nursing and support staff educational programs for accuracy and relevance
• Incorporate principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing and support staff education programs
• Develop and administer core education to address patient population specific nursing care
• Teach content as needed and/or assigned within clinical expertise to facilitate orientation, staff development and/or safe practice
• Identify and recruit internal and external resources (nurse, doctor, other specialists) for educational activities
• Participate in workgroups and performance improvement activities related to nursing and support staff for the SIH Medical Group
