RN - MedSurg/Tele - Contract

Skills required: RN : Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), general medical/surgical skillset – care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc. Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Med/Tele Surgical: ESRD, CHF, Pneumonia, Sickle Cell Crisis, Diabetes/DKA, Wounds, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure, etc.

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Floating Requirements: Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children's Hospital)

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Med/Tele Surgical: ESRD, CHF, Pneumonia, Sickle Cell Crisis, Diabetes/DKA, Wounds, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure, etc.

Patient Ratios:

• RN: Days: 1:5; Nights: 1:6 (critical surge 1:7-8)
• CNA: Days 1:12; Nights 1:12

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• CNA: BLS

Skills required:

• CNA: acute care MedSurg experience; experience with lift equipment - Hoyer

Support within the Department:

• CNA (Ratios – 1:12) – patient care (ADLs/Vitals/Nutrition) and mobility
• Receptionist/HUC, 24/7 – able to validate EKGs
• Charge nurse
• Phlebotomy, 24/7
• IV/VAT Team, 24/7
• Pharmacist dedicated to unit
• Case Manager x 2 per unit
• MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist
• RT 24/7 – will perform Nebulizer treatments
• Nurse Educator
• Hospitalist, 24/7
• Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes

Floating:

• Within region and scope of practice
• Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable

• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
