Compensation
Base Pay: $27.72 – $39.60/hour.
10 Years of Experience: Up to $36.30/hour.
15+ Years of Experience: Up to $39.60/hour.
Night Shift Differential: +$4.25/hour.
Weekend Differential: None.
Sign-On Bonus: None.
Relocation Assistance: Case-by-Case.
Facility Overview
Join a 267-bed acute care hospital serving the Fort Walton Beach and surrounding communities. The facility offers advanced services including an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Cancer Care Center, open-heart surgery, emergency services, pediatric emergency care, and a broad range of specialty services. The Med-Surg unit consists of 28 private beds, with nurse-to-patient ratios that can reach 1:6.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
Acute care experience is not required; candidates with LTAC, SNF, and other applicable nursing backgrounds will be considered.
Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
BLS/BCLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
Unit Details
Med-Surg unit with 28 private beds.
Nurse-to-patient ratio up to 1:6.
Day and night shifts available.
Rotating weekend requirement.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with department requirements and applicable nursing standards.
Assess patients upon admission and during scheduled shifts, identifying and reporting changes in condition.
Perform nursing procedures, monitoring, and clinical functions as ordered by medical providers.
Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action for adverse or unintended responses.
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and care in the medical record.
Respond promptly to patient requests while anticipating and addressing patient needs.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to provide individualized patient care.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care.
Explain complex medical information clearly and understandably.
Advocate for patients and families while supporting positive clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
