    Job Summary
    Position Type: Full-time (0.8 Status) and Part-time (0.4 Status) positions available.
    This position assists Nephrology Physician/Advanced Practice Provider by performing direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the Medical Provider and within the scope of practice.
    Responsibilities include:
    • Applies nursing process, critical thinking, and judgment to clinical practice.
    • Prepares patient charts for upcoming visits to ensure all results are available for the provider to include utilizing electronic chart history.
    • Restocks and orders supplies for patient treatment areas, kitchenettes, nursing station, and supply areas. Assists with cleaning of patient treatment areas.
    • Cleans instruments and utensils and delivers to sterile processing department as needed.
    • Triages patient telephone calls for medical providers. Reports information to Medical providers and directs patients as orders are received. Provides patient education/advice through the direct and or telephone as directed by the Medical Provider.
    • Transports patients to appropriate areas.
    • Performs insurance pre-authorizations.
    • Performs medication administration and technical skills within the scope of practice.
    • Coordinates and assists with discharge instructions, follow-up care, diagnostic testing, procedures, and medication instructions.
    • Other duties may be assigned.
    Qualifications
    Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse Program. or Medical Assistant Program
    Holds or is eligible for current licensure in the States of South Dakota and Minnesota.
    Mandatory Basic and Advanced Life Support Training per policy.
