RN/Lactation Consultant-Inpatient Neonatal

Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure]. International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) within one (1) year post-hire.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Job Summary:

• Provides and coordinates inpatient breastfeeding needs.
• Demonstrates an understanding of diversity.
• Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
• Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
• Updates resources and documentation.
• Trains staff members and community members in breastfeeding techniques.
• Performs other duties.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY:

Required Education:

• Associate degree (or equivalent) in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing. 

Required Experience: 

• Two (2) years of registered nursing experience

Preferred Experience:

• Advanced lactation consultant training.  Two (2) to five (5) years of obstetrical registered nursing experience. 

Required Certification/License/Registry:  

• Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].

• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credential from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP).

• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) within one (1) year post-hire.

Preferred Certification/License/Registry:  

• IBCLC credential from the IBLCE at hire.
