RN - Labor & Delivery Santa Rosa, California Job Type: Full-Time Work Model: Onsite Shift: 12-Hour Day & Night Shifts Key Responsibilities Obstetrics & Labor/Delivery Nursing Care
Provide direct nursing care for obstetric and labor & delivery patients
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery
Assist physicians and care teams during childbirth procedures
Support postpartum recovery and newborn care activities
Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records
Patient Assessment & Clinical Support
Perform patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
Respond appropriately to emergent obstetric situations
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
Support patient education and discharge planning
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with:
Physicians
Neonatal teams
Obstetrics staff
Ancillary departments
Maintain strong communication with patients and families
Promote patient-centered, compassionate care
Compliance & Safety
Maintain compliance with hospital nursing standards and regulatory requirements
Follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols
Maintain BLS and NRP certifications
Support quality improvement and patient care initiatives
Must-Have Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Current BLS Certification – American Heart Association
Current NRP Certification – American Academy of Pediatrics
Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
Strong obstetrics and patient care skills
Ability to work 12-hour Day & Night shifts onsite in Santa Rosa, CA
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Labor & Delivery nursing experience in high-volume acute care hospitals
Experience with maternal/newborn patient care
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
