About the Role

As a Labor and Delivery RN youll support mothers babies and families through labor delivery and the postpartum experience. Reporting to the Director of Obstetrical Nursing youll provide safe high-quality family-centered care while collaborating with physicians midwives and a dedicated team of professionals. What Youll Do
- Provide labor support fetal monitoring and comprehensive care during labor and birth.
- Circulate for cesarean section deliveries and assist in emergent situations.
- Care for mothers and newborns in the immediate postpartum period.
- Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for mothers and infants.
- Educate and empower patients and families throughout their childbirth journey.
- Support continuity of care across Labor & Delivery MotherBaby and Special Care Nursery when needed.
- Supervise and delegate care to support staff ensuring safe and effective practice.
- Document all patient care clearly and accurately according to policy.
- Participate in quality improvement unit projects and ongoing professional education.
- Advocate for patients rights privacy and dignity in every interaction.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
- Current Massachusetts RN license.
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
- NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
- Fetal monitoring certification and ACLS preferred.
- Previous labor and delivery experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent assessment communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively stay organized and respond quickly in fast-paced situations.
- Comfort with computer systems and commitment to confidentiality.
