    Job Title: RN – Labor and Delivery

    Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse with at least 1 full year of post-graduation Labor & Delivery experience.
    Critical requirement: Candidates must have actual L&D RN experience. Nursing school clinical rotations and residency programs do not count toward the required 1 year of experience.

    Client is seeking experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses to provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced maternity environment.
    The RN will assess patients, develop and coordinate individualized care plans, monitor patient conditions, advocate for patients and families, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to achieve safe and positive outcomes.

    This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

    Key Responsibilities

    Nursing Practice & Patient Care
    Assess patients and identify appropriate nursing diagnoses.
    Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
    Develop, update, and coordinate individualized plans of care.
    Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions appropriately.
    Maintain essential competencies required for the Labor & Delivery population.
    Practice within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act and applicable nursing standards.

    Patient & Family Advocacy
    Advocate for ethical and holistic patient care.
    Partner with patients and families during care planning.
    Promote patient autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs.
    Provide compassionate and patient-focused care throughout the L&D experience.

    Education & Learning
    Provide education and support to patients and families.
    Facilitate learning for patients, families, nursing staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
    Support a collaborative learning environment.

    Safety & Quality
    Maintain accountability for patient safety.
    Identify and correct clinical or operational problems.
    Integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care.
    Use data and evidence to improve patient outcomes.

    Required Qualifications
    Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
    Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience.
    Washington Registered Nurse License – required upon hire.
    BLS – American Heart Association – required upon hire.
    NRP – American Academy of Pediatrics – required upon hire.

    Critical Experience Requirement
    Must have at least 1 full year of post-graduation Labor & Delivery RN experience.
    Student/clinical rotation experience does not count.
    Nursing residency experience does not count.
    Candidates without actual L&D RN experience should not be submitted.

    Preferred Qualifications
    National certification in the applicable nursing specialty upon hire.
    Strong Labor & Delivery clinical experience.
    Strong patient and family communication skills.
    Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
    Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and patient advocacy skills.
