    Job Summary:
    The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The RN monitors maternal and fetal well-being, assists with deliveries and procedures, and collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery.
    • Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, vital signs, and other clinical indicators.
    • Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered.
    • Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
    • Provide care during labor induction, augmentation, and other obstetric procedures.
    • Recognize and respond promptly to maternal or fetal complications and emergencies.
    • Assist with emergency interventions and neonatal resuscitation when required.
    • Provide immediate postpartum care and monitor for complications.
    • Support breastfeeding, newborn care, and patient education.
    • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team.
    • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies.
    • Participate in quality-improvement and emergency preparedness activities.

    Qualifications:

    • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Nursing degree from an accredited program.
    • Current BLS certification.
    • NRP and ACLS may be required depending on facility requirements.
    • Previous Labor & Delivery/OB experience preferred.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong maternal and fetal assessment skills.
    • Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and obstetric emergencies.
    • Ability to recognize changes in maternal and fetal status quickly.
    • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.

    Work Schedule:

    • 12-hour shifts are common.
    • May include nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call requir
