Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. Job Summary: Responsible for the pre and post operative/procedure care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with a variety of health care needs and disease processes. Care includes technical skills, equipment, assessment, pre and post education and discharge in a fast paced environment. Minimum of one year experience in pre and post op diagnostic cath lab preferred. This position is represented by CNA. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Associate Degree(A.S.) or equivalent: Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Preferred Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class with passing score: Required Minimum 6 months experience in medical surgical nursing in last 2 years: Preferred Minimum of one year experience in pre and post op diagnostic cath lab: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice: Required Basic Life Support (BLS)?certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Advanced Cardiovascular?Life Support (ACLS)?certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)?certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS: Required AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS: Required Essential Functions: Identifies common recurrent patient problems, symptoms and behavioral changes using standards of care 95% of the time. Recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress or other impending emergencies 100% of the time. Demonstrates the knowledge/skill in the care of patients during post operative phase two recovery. Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care of patients during life threatening emergencies in populations served. Demonstrates knowledge of lead functions and application, able to make recommendations for best monitoring based on patient presentation. Understands and follows chain of command per policy. Reviews medical history, physical examination, nursing care plan and all available assessment data 95% of the time.
