Position Title: RN - ER NOCS Charge
Location: Arcata CA 95518
Duration: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: 7:00pm - 7:30am - three 12-hr. shifts weekly
Pay rate: $70-$70/hr.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:- Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
Assess, triage, monitor, and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical needs.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and established protocols.
Respond promptly to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.
Serve as the Charge RN during assigned night shifts, coordinating patient care and nursing activities.
Supervise and support ED nursing staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
Coordinate patient flow, assignments, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary departments, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the CPSI/Evident EMR.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, emergency department protocols, and patient safety standards.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
Assist with maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient Emergency Department environment.
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives as required..
To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]- Active and unrestricted California RN license
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room/ED nursing experience
Previous Charge RN or leadership experience preferred
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Strong emergency nursing assessment, triage, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple patients and priorities in a fast-paced ED environment
Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to coordinate and supervise nursing staff during overnight shifts
Proficiency with electronic medical records; CPSI/Evident experience preferred
Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) and provide holiday coverage
Proof of a negative TB screening within 12 months of the contract start date
