Pay Rate

  • Local: $1,500 – $2,200/week (Based on Experience)

  • Traveler: $2,000 – $2,500/week (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel contract to provide safe, efficient care in a fast-paced 14-bed Emergency Department.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in New York.

  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department/ER nursing experience.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Current ACLS certification.

  • Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.

  • Strong emergency assessment and critical-thinking skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and medication-dispensing systems.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, including monitoring vital signs and changes in clinical condition.

  • Prioritize patient care based on acuity and emergency department protocols.

  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.

  • Initiate and assist with emergency interventions and procedures.

  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and clinical emergencies.

  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Monitor patients throughout their ED stay and communicate significant changes promptly.

  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies and procedures.

  • Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and coordination of care.

  • Maintain a professional and compassionate approach while caring for patients and families.
