Description

Title: RN- ED

Location: Concord North Carolina 28025

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36

Shift Information: 1900 - 0700

Clinical Interviewing- Yes

On Call, Call Back Requirements: None

Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Floating Requirements:Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

  • Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Unit Information:

Minimum Years of Experience required:
  • ED RN: 2 years ED exp (Resource Team)
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
  • Trauma level 3 GSW, Stabbing, MVA, Falls, Stroke, Heart Failure, Chest pain, patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, Cardiac Cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD
Patient Ratios:
  • RN: 1:5 max (acuity dependent)
  • CNA: 1:7
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
  • ED RN: Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI; Preferred: TNCC
  • Skills required:
  • ED RN: Trauma experience, Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, blood administration, etc.
Support within the Department:
  • CNA ratios vary
  • Receptionist/HUC
  • Charge nurse, 24/7 may or may not have patients
  • IV/VAT Team
  • RT, 24/7
  • Hospitalist, 24/7
  • ED Physicians
Technology/Equipment:
  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pump: Alaris
  • Med dispensing: Omnicell
  • Monitors: Phillips
Floating:
  • Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable
  • Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH)
  • If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
Orientation (facility and unit):
  • NEO
  • 2 days departmental
Scheduling:
  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • Shift times: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
  • No call for travelers
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
