    Director of Nursing (RN) – Skilled Nursing Facility

    Nocona Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and inspire our clinical team. We’re looking for a compassionate, hands-on leader who is passionate about resident care, teamwork, and operational excellence.

    As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee all aspects of the nursing department—ensuring quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a positive, collaborative work environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and direction for all nursing staff to deliver exceptional resident-centered care.

    • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management for the nursing team.

    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

    • Collaborate closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to promote efficient operations and effective communication.

    • Monitor quality metrics, address deficiencies, and implement performance improvement initiatives.

    • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges in collaboration with clinical and administrative staff.

    • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to all reporting and record-keeping requirements.

    • Foster a supportive, team-oriented environment that encourages growth and professional development.

    Qualifications

    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas (required).

    • Proven experience as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.

    • Current CPR certification required.

    • In-depth knowledge of state/federal regulations, infection control, and quality assurance standards.

    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
