The Registered Nurse RN Dialysis Staff position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. Operating within a dialysis unit, this role collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care, monitor patients during procedures, and ensure adherence to dialysis protocols for optimal patient well-being.
Essential Job Function
- Monitors and assesses patients'' vital signs and overall condition during dialysis sessions to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments, including heparin administration and fluid management, to patients undergoing dialysis.
- Operates and maintains dialysis equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and cleanliness for each session.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to patients'' specific needs.
- Educates patients and their families about the dialysis process, self-care techniques, and dietary restrictions to promote optimal outcomes and quality of life.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Associate''s Degree in NursingPreferred: Bachelor''s Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Required: 2 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact stateBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
