Unit Information:
o Beds: 28 (2 hybrid room for CV/Vascular)
Census? Average patients/day? Approximately 60-75 cases per day
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2-3 years of acute care experience (unless IR Hybrid Tech, then 3 years of hybrid experience)
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Outpatient, inpatient, trauma
o GSW, stabbings, transplant (kidney, hearts), donor cases, general, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, ortho, neuro, open hearts/CABGS
o Hybrid Room: sees between 5-10 cases/day, depending onw hat cases are scheduled. Adults only. TAVR, AAA, Endarterectomies, angiograms, fistula revisions,
o 20% pediatric (open hearts, appy, chole)
o No liver or lung transplant
o Participates in Gifts of Hope cases
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o OR/CVOR RN: BLS
o Surg Tech/CVOR Surg tech: BLS, CST
o Hybrid IR Tech: BLS, ARRT
o Surg Assist: BLS, CSA
Skills required:
o OR RN: experience with above case types, able to scrub and circulate, critical care experience (preferred), trauma experience at least at a level 1-2; EPIC experience required.
o CVOR RN: able to scrub and circulate ADULT or PEDS open-heart cases (manager will specify in posting) cases, critical care experience, Level 1 trauma experience; EPIC experience required.
o CST: able to scrub the above cases.
o CVOR Tech: able to scrub ADULT or PEDS open-heart cases (manager will specify in posting)
o Hybrid IR Tech: Need to have experience in above hybrid patient types; Siemens equipment experience required.
o SA: MUST be comfortable performing Surgical Assist and Surgical Tech duties. Please confirm in interview and document in offer email that this was discussed.
Support within the Department:
o Charge nurse: no patient assignment (M-F) able to assist on weekends and evenings.
o Bedside monitoring by anesthesiologist
o Resource Nurse
o Surgeons (have preference cards)
o ANM
o Educators
o Service line reps
o EPIC super-user
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Pyxis

Orientation (facility and unit):
o 1st day: meet the educators and ANM, gain login access, online modules, EPIC training.
o 2nd-3rd: unit orientation
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every 4th weekend (Sat-Sun)

RT/Hybrid: M-Thurs 8/10H shifts
o 6-week schedule, will receive 2-4 ahead
o Schedule is rotation based
o No self-scheduling; will be plugged in where they are needed based on the rotation
o OR is open 24/7, 365 days a year
o OR operates M-F 0730-2300. After 2300 skeleton crew for trauma and urgent cases only
o Sat-Sun 0700-1700, after 1700 skeleton crew for trauma and urgent cases only
o All RTO must be emailed to Cassie Ciavarella
o Holiday Requirements: Holiday coverage required.
o On-Call: Dependent on shifts/service line. 30 min. response time required. Sleeping room available for on call team member.
