    A Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) opportunity is available on a Med-Surg unit at a 585+ bed hospital in Kansas City, MO. The facility operates a Level I Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke Center, a Chest Pain Center, and a Breast Care Center, among other specialty services.

    The role. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care during the designated shift, serving as the primary resource person for staff and collaborating with the broader management team to support quality outcomes. Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating efficient patient admissions and discharges, participating in ongoing assessment of care quality, and assisting with staff scheduling and labor management in alignment with patient care needs and productivity guidelines. The CNC also provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and developing new staff, and supports inventory and supply management on the unit. A core part of the role involves operationalizing nursing engagement strategies — including employee rounding and hourly rounds — and leading service recovery efforts when needed.

    What we're looking for.

    • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
    • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
    • Strong, current acute care experience in Med-Surg required; prior charge RN experience in an acute care Med-Surg setting preferred, or a minimum of two years as a staff RN on a Med-Surg unit — experience must be recent and current
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

    Schedule. Days (7a–7p) or Nights (7p–7a), both with rotating weekends.

    Compensation. $35.65 - $47.64/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
