JOB DESCRIPTION The Charge Nurse provides care and education for the patient based on their illness, symptoms, and courses of treatment. Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to provide quality care.
- Develop, discuss and communicate plan of care.
- Demonstrate skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
- Evaluate identified problems, care provided and patient response and take appropriate action.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation and complete audits for the unit as necessary.
- Assumes responsibility for daily personnel assignment/monitoring patient care and overall unit activities, in accordance with established standards.
- Supports Professional Governance through engagement and support of the Unit Based Council and other nursing councils.
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Education- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred or
- Associates Degree Nursing Required or
- Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required
Minimum Work Experience- 1-3 years Clinical Nursing Experience Required
Licenses and Certifications- Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state license Upon Hire Required and
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate (OCIC_ONS/ONCC) Upon Hire Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nursing, knowledge, and skills. (High proficiency)
