The Cath Lab Nurse serves as a clinical leader in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and professional standards. This role monitors patients, circulates the procedure room, and participates in a call rotation of 10 days per month, including two full weekends (Friday–Sunday). The nurse ensures high‑quality outcomes, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and supports organizational goals while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and professional accountability.
Monitor patients and circulate during cardiac catheterization procedures.
Apply the nursing process effectively in all aspects of patient care.
Assess patient and family learning needs; implement appropriate teaching strategies.
Delegate, communicate, and manage nursing team resources responsibly.
Utilize data and clinical knowledge to support quality improvement and optimal outcomes.
Demonstrate behaviors that enhance patient satisfaction, team morale, and professional practice.
Adapt communication and care approaches to diverse patient populations.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Uphold all Compliance & Privacy Program requirements, including reporting concerns.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Registered Nurse diploma.
Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience.
Current RN license in state of practice.
Current BLS (American Heart Association).
Current ACLS (American Heart Association).
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Certification in a clinical specialty area.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Heavy Work: Ability to exert 50–100 lbs occasionally, 25–50 lbs frequently, and 10–20 lbs constantly.
Frequent walking, standing, pushing, and pulling.
Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues.
Potential occupational exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications/waste.
Work performed in direct patient care areas and procedural environments.
