JOB RELATIONSHIPS Director of Cardiology and the Practice Administrator DEFINITION OF POSITION We seek a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with outpatient clinic experience in cardiology to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our cardiologists in delivering high-quality patient care, including assessments, coordination of care, patient education, and remote monitoring services for patients with cardiovascular conditions. The RN will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and ensure a positive experience. Key Responsibilities Patient Care and Assessment Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate cardiovascular health. Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients with cardiac conditions. Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and CTA coronary imaging, providing pre-and post-procedure care and education. Care Coordination and Remote Monitoring Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care. Help manage our cardiology remote monitoring services, ensuring timely review and follow-up on patients cardiovascular data. Schedule and follow up on diagnostic tests, procedures, and appointments as needed. Communicate effectively with other medical professionals to ensure continuity of care. Patient Education and Counseling Educate patients and families on cardiovascular conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques. Provide guidance to patients managing chronic conditions, such as heart failure, hypertension, and arrhythmias. Document patient interactions, education, and follow-up actions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Clinical Support and Procedures Administer medications, monitor for adverse reactions, and educate patients on medication compliance. Perform minor in-office procedures, such as injections, wound care, and peripheral IV line insertions, as permitted by the states scope of practice. Respond to patient phone calls and inquiries, triage appropriately, and provide guidance on symptom management. Quality Improvement Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinic policies to maintain high standards of patient care. Assist in developing clinic protocols and patient care workflows to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction. QUALIFICATIONS Professional Licensure: Current RN license in the state of NC. BLS certification required at the time of hire. ACLS certificatin required within 6 months of employment. Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of RN experience, with at least 2-3 years in outpatient cardiology or a related field. Skills: Strong clinical skills and experience with cardiac patient care and procedures. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Proficient in using EMR systems and basic computer applications. Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and commitment to a team-oriented environment. Working Conditions Regular outpatient clinic hours (M-F 8a-5p) with occasional need for flexibility depending on patient needs. May require occasional travel for professional development or patient follow-up within the network.
