Job Title: Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown
Location: Columbia, SC
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 4 Days/Week | 12 Hours/Shift | 48 Hours/Week
Local Candidates Required: Yes
Traveler Candidates Required: Yes

Pay Rate: $52 – $55/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Stepdown RN to provide direct nursing care, monitor complex cardiac patients, and manage cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.

  • AHA BLS and ACLS Certifications.

  • NIH Certification.

  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience.

  • Strong Cardiac Stepdown nursing experience.

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia management.

  • Successful completion of required Medication and Arrhythmia examinations.

  • Ability to work night shifts.

  • 36-hour or 48-hour schedules accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Cardiac Stepdown unit.

  • Monitor patients with complex cardiac conditions and identify changes in clinical status.

  • Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize arrhythmias.

  • Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility protocols.

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized nursing care plans.

  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac telemetry, oxygenation, and other clinical parameters.

  • Respond promptly to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition.

  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Provide patient and family education regarding cardiac conditions, medications, and treatment plans.

  • Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately in EPIC.

  • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies.

  • Maintain required certifications and complete medication and arrhythmia competency examinations.
