This RN Cardiac Neuro (Stroke Unit) opportunity is located in Sanford, FL and is based on a 26-bed Stroke/Neuro and Med/Surg unit at a regional medical center. The unit uses GE Telemetry, Baxter infusion pumps, bladder scanners, and Meditech as its EMR, with patient ratios of 1:6.

The role. Working nights with rotating weekends, the Cardiac Neuro RN functions as a core member of the interdisciplinary care team on a dedicated stroke and neurology floor. The nurse collects and analyzes comprehensive patient assessment data to establish diagnoses, identify individualized expected outcomes, and build patient-specific care plans. A central responsibility is continuous monitoring of critical vital signs to enable timely intervention in life-threatening situations, alongside active advocacy for patient safety throughout each shift. The role also includes educating patients and families on medications, procedures, and treatments to support informed participation in care.

What we're looking for.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience in Med-Surg or Telemetry (within the last 1–2 years) required
  • Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN preferred
  • Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license required; compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of employment start
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required within 6 months of employment start date

Schedule. Night shift with rotating weekend coverage on a 26-bed Stroke/Neuro and Med/Surg floor.

Compensation. $30.75 - $44.68/hr plus Sign On: For Day Shift: $5k; For Night Shift: $7,500. RELO: case by case. Shift Diff: $4.50 (Nights) & $1.50 (Weekends).
