    Job Tittle: Parts Manager

    Reports to: Marina Manager

    The Marina Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the marina#39;s parts department. This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, pricing, storing, and securing parts for the marina, with the goal of maximizing profitability while minimizing shrinkage and obsolescence. The parts manager manages inventory levels, vendor relationships, and department profitability while maintaining a high stander of customer service. They work closely with the Service and Sales teams to ensure parts are available when needed, control inventory costs, and support the overall operational and financial goals of the marina.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels
    • Perform weekly cycle counts to maintain proper inventory levels and reduce shrinkage
    • Maintains a clean and well-organized part department that is user friendly and free of clutter
    • Transfer parts in and out of the marina and maintain detailed records of each transaction
    • Help customers find and purchase the correct parts including special orders
    • Generate purchase orders and receive all parts
    • Collaborate with technicians, service advisors, and the service manager to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs
    • Maintain appropriate profit margins on all parts sold over the counter and on work orders
    • Work with Merchandise Manager and assistant when placing special orders to make sure that the correct part numbers are used or so they an create a ne part number if needed
    • Research parts for technicians as needed
    • Ensure that all parts have a stock location entered into the dealer management system
    • Assist service manager with customer issues when needed
    • Assist service advisors and warranty manager in creating work orders when needed
    • Work with integrity and respect for fellow co-workers while following company policy
    • Complete required annual training
    • Performs other tasks as required or assigned

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
    • One year or more in parts management, inventory management, marine dealership, automotive, powersports, or a related industry preferred
    • Strong knowledge of marine parts, accessories, equipment, and related products preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory levels and minimize shrinkage, obsolete inventory, and carrying costs

    Work Environment:

    • The workplace noise level ranges from moderate to loud
    • Temperature conditions are varying in winter and hot in summer, especially in the shop and outdoor areas
    • Outdoor work may be required, including tasks performed on the water
    • Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to stand, sit or crouch for extended hours
    • Regularly required to walk, use hands and fingers for handling objects and perform fine motor tasks
    • Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending and reaching
    • Strong verbal communication skills are essential
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
