Job Summary

The Risk Management Specialist - Analyst/Finance Manager performs a dual-function role within the City of Bellevue's Risk Management Division, providing data analytics, database management, and financial support including budget monitoring. This position works under the general direction of the Risk Manager and serves as a key resource for risk-related data, reporting, and financial administration across the City.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with the budget office to manage the Risk Management Division's operating budget.
  • Maintains budget monitoring for Risk Management
  • Coordinates with procurement on Request for Proposals and Contract management.
  • Participates in insurance policy renewal processes as directed by the Risk Manager.
  • Assists in the research, data compilation, and preparation of risk management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops high proficiency with the Riskonnect RMIS (Salesforce Platform Database) to generate and manage risk management data across the organization.
  • Collaborates with the Citys Business Intelligence team to transition and maintain dashboards in Microsoft Power BI, ensuring accurate and accessible reporting.
  • Maintains current reports and corresponding dashboards on City Intranet sites, ensuring information is up-to-date.
  • Supports the Risk Manager in special projects related to loss control, risk financing, claims administration, safety, and other risk management activities for the City and contracting governmental entities.
  • Maintains confidentiality of electronic records and exercises appropriate document control in handling sensitive risk and claims data.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

  • Works under the general supervision of the Risk Manager.
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Four or more years of professional related experience in Data Analysis, Financial Management, and/or Public Administration.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and Salesforce platform databases.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, competencies and abilities.

FLEXIBLE/HYBRID WORKING

A hybrid work schedule is available for this position after an orientation period. Remote work for this position is subject to the departments operational needs and will be discussed with candidates during the selection process. Full-time remote work is not an available option. Once hired, employees must reside in the State of Washington and within reasonable commuting distance to Bellevue City Hall.
