RFERCES Field Technician - Public Safety Radio Systems Monday -Friday 2ND SHIFT -Overnight Also known internally as ERCES Inspection & Compliance Technician Location Tampa FL | Schedule 2nd SHIFT -Overnight approx. 3 PM -11 PM1 AM ~90 of shifts Position Summary Were hiring a field technician to perform annual inspections testing documentation and compliance verification of Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems ERCES - the in -building public safety radio and wireless coverage systems also known as in -building wirelessIBW DAS or BDA systems required in commercial buildings. This role ensures systems meet all requirements set by the Authority Having Jurisdiction AHJ applicable NFPA codes and FCC regulations. This is primarily a 2ND SHIFT overnight role - approximately 90 of shifts run 3 PM -11 PM or similar due to testing requirements building occupancy constraints and coordination with public safety agencies. Were looking for someone self -directed technically sharp and comfortable working independently during night hours. What Youll Do Annual Inspection & Testing • Perform annual ERCES inspections in accordance with adopted local requirements • Conduct approved system testing including RF grid testing • Perform visual inspections of installed systems • Verify system configurations against design documentation Documentation & Reporting • Generate detailed accurate inspection reports for customers in a timely manner • Document and report deficiencies for corrective action Operational Requirements • Work overnight shifts ~90 of the time typical window 3 PM -1 AM or similar • Maintain clear professional communication with building owners AHJs and other stakeholders What Youll Bring Required Knowledge • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and generating certain reports. • Working knowledge of ERCES and RF Trunking theory • Understanding of annual inspection and testing requirements under NFPA codes • Familiarity with grid testing methodology • Understanding of RF propagation principles • Experience with DAS and BDA systems Certifications & Education • High school diploma or GED required • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License GROL strongly preferred required to complete probationary period if not already held . • 2-3 years of documented experience in ERCES public safety radio systems RF systems or DAS environments preferred Technical Skills • Proficiency with test equipment spectrum analyzers signal level meters RF sweep tools • Ability to read blueprints and RFsystem design diagrams Physical Requirements • Ability to climb ladders and access rooftops • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. • Comfortable working in mechanical rooms and tight spaces • Able to stand and walk for extended periods during testing Work Environment This is a field -based role. Approximately 90 of work is conducted at night to accommodate building occupancy restrictions and minimize disruption to tenants and emergency communications systems. Additional Requirements • Must pass a pre -employment background check and drug screen • Must be eligible to pass multiple background investigations conducted by federal state and local agencies to access controlled facilities • Must hold a valid U.S. drivers license
