The Revenue Cycle Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing reimbursement, billing, collections, denials, and revenue cycle trends to support the financial performance of Mountain Park Health Center. This position develops reports, identifies operational and financial improvement opportunities, and partners with cross-functional teams to strengthen revenue integrity, cash flow, and compliance.
This role works closely with billing, coding, operations, credentialing, and information systems teams to support accurate revenue capture and timely reimbursement across applicable service lines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Analyzes revenue cycle performance, including charges, payments, adjustments, denials, claim edits, accounts receivable aging, and collection trends.
- Prepares recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, scorecards, and variance analyses for leadership.
- Evaluates actual reimbursement against expected payment, fee schedules, contractual terms, and applicable payment methodologies.
- Supports maintenance and analysis of fee schedules, reimbursement models, and charge capture logic.
- Monitors denial and underpayment trends and assists with root-cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Collaborates with operational leaders to improve front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end revenue cycle workflows.
- Reconciles encounter data, payment postings, and remittance activity to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Supports audits, compliance reviews, and monitoring activities related to billing, documentation, and reimbursement standards.
- Develops financial models and analytical tools to assess reimbursement changes, payer performance, and operational impacts.
- Presents findings and recommendations to leadership and support implementation of revenue cycle improvements.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Three (3) years of experience in healthcare finance, reimbursement, revenue cycle, billing analytics, or financial analysis.
- Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies, fee schedules, managed care contracts, claims adjudication, accounts receivable analysis, and denial management.
- Expert with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with revenue cycle reporting tools.
