Job Summary:

Terribles is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Audit Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills, solid communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing daily audits, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities using various POS and accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily audits for convenience stores and car wash operations using various POS systems
  • Prepare financial reconciliations and investigate variances as assigned
  • Assist with the month-end closing process, including research and correcting entries in PDI
  • Use accounting software, web tools, and Excel spreadsheets for audit tasks
  • Compose and send clear, concise emails regarding audit issues or discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of audit results

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of auditing experience (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Proficiency with financial data and numerical analysis
  • Experience using accounting software (PDI experience is a plus)
  • Strong research skills for investigating discrepancies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to work additional hours when needed to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with 10-key calculator

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required to read and interpret documents, instructions, and manuals, as well as to communicate effectively.

REASONING ABILITY:

The ability to apply logical thinking to execute instructions and resolve problems is crucial.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Applicants must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role requires regular standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds occasionally. The incumbent must also be able to perform duties in varying work conditions, such as confined spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the role may occasionally require exposure to an environment containing unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
