HYBRID: This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of any of the Mayo Clinic campuses for on-site expectations based on business needs.
The Revenue Analyst III serves as a key analytical resource supporting Professional Billing reimbursement accuracy through contract analysis, payment variance review, expected reimbursement validation, and payer policy interpretation. This role is responsible for identifying reimbursement discrepancies, analyzing contract performance, supporting contract implementation and refinement efforts, and partnering with Contracting & Payor Relations, Revenue Cycle Systems, and operational stakeholders to ensure payments align with contractual terms and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will develop subject matter expertise in Professional Billing reimbursement methodologies, payer policies, provider fee schedules, and Epic contract configuration while supporting reimbursement investigations, trend analysis, and recovery initiatives. As part of professional development, the analyst will be expected to obtain and maintain Epic Professional Billing Contracts Certification through either remote learning or instructor-led training in Verona, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and motivated by solving complex reimbursement issues while expanding expertise in contract administration, Professional Billing operations, and revenue cycle analytics.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required in economics, mathematics, business administration, accounting, finance, healthcare business related fields or statistics and 6 years of relevant experience;
OR
High School degree and 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or healthcare business related field with 4 years relevant experience preferred.
Coding/Compliance Certification preferred. Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.
Has a highly developed understanding of coding, billing and compliance practices. Has advanced knowledge of large revenue recognition systems and practice billing systems. Advanced investigational skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work independently. Possess initiative, analytical skills, and an ability to operate with a high level of productivity. Demonstrates advanced communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others. Able to lead others through difficult situations.
