Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (5 Days per Week)

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing manufacturing organization to identify a Revenue Accountant for its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 3-5 years of experience who is looking to build expertise in revenue recognition, billing, accounts receivable, and project-based accounting.

The Revenue Accountant will play a key role in managing the revenue recognition process, reviewing customer contracts, supporting billing activities, and assisting with month-end close. This position works closely with Sales, Project Management, Operations, and Finance and offers strong exposure to cross-functional business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition & Project Accounting

  • Manage revenue recognition activities in accordance with ASC 606 guidelines.
  • Review customer contracts and project documentation to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
  • Recognize revenue and cost of goods sold accurately and timely.
  • Support the accounting and billing requirements associated with large-scale customer projects.
  • Maintain ownership of revenue accounting activities for key customer relationships.
  • Track and monitor project milestones to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recording.
  • Manage a high volume of active projects while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving revenue recognition issues and discrepancies.

Billing & Accounts Receivable

  • Create milestone-based customer invoices and ensure timely distribution.
  • Review quotes, orders, and contracts for pricing and accounting accuracy.
  • Support the end-to-end accounts receivable process.
  • Monitor customer payment activity and assist in resolving billing, payment term, and collection issues.
  • Partner with internal teams and customers to improve billing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies.

General Accounting

  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Prepare reports and schedules for accounting leadership and management.
  • Support audits and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial information.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve accounting processes and ERP system efficiencies.
  • Participate in process enhancement initiatives and operational improvement projects.
  • Assist with special projects and additional finance-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience.
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles and accounting fundamentals.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
