    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    Responsible for running day to day sales and operations of stores while maximizing profit and minimizing costs. Ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company\''\''s standards, staff is fully versed on daily, weekly, and monthly goals and excellent customer service standards are met.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of management.     • Coach sales people.

    • Meet daily with sales team.

    • Offer them the coaching, counseling, advice, support, motivation or information they need in order to help them meet their sales objectives.

    • Manage sales

    • Make every effort to maximize both present and long term sales and gross profits.

    • Stay current on financial data, inventory, and other statistics.

    • Set objectives.

    • Plan, organize, direct and control your sales staff to meet these objectives.

    • Use these to help your salespeople maximize their potential.

    • At the beginning of each month, counsel with each salesperson to establish realistic sales objectives for the month and action plan.

    • Achieve forecasted sales by following (and, if necessary, adjusting) a written plan of action.

    • Monitor each salesperson\''\''s daily performance and compare it with that month\''\''s objective.

    • Review financial data that affects your store\''\''s profit centers.

    • Maintain inventory control.

    • Review inventory daily.

    • Be sure that all product in the store is available for purchase. Ensure that shipments are put out for sale immediately, and special orders and holds are picked up by customers promptly.

    • Maximize your merchandising efforts by seeing that products are displayed according to the appropriate plan-o-gram and are not damaged or dirty.

    • Supervise the sales floor.

    • Make sure your salespeople are doing everything they should be doing to successfully close sales.

    • Ensure that the sales floor operations function smoothly.

    • Scheduling

    • o Schedule sales team for maximum productivity.

    • o Oversee and manage payroll.

    • Develop sales forces

    • o Recruiting, hiring and training your people.

    • o Develop the most well trained, professional sales force possible.

    • Assist salespeople in the selling operation.

    • Create business by networking with teachers/schools, churches, and community organizations

    • Assist your salespeople in selling by stimulating floor traffic.

    • Motivate them to perform well.

    • Assist them in the selling process whenever needed.

    • Generate sales to exceed personal sales goals

    • Promote the Music & Arts lesson program

    • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to each and every customer

    • Promote customer loyalty

    • Involve in customer follow up.

    • Supervise the proper use of leads by each salesperson.

    • Review the lead sheets for trends that indicate where additional assistance might be needed.

    • Handle complaints

    • Constructively handle (or supervise the handling of) all customer complaints related to your store.

    • Conduct sales meetings.

    • Prepare in advance and conduct regular sales meetings.

    • Review the performance of your salespeople and to motivate and stimulate them to even greater achievements.

    • Maintain a self development program.

    • Constantly strive toward continuing professional growth.

    • Work to improve your sales skills, managerial skills, business skills and product knowledge.

    • Maintain store security including: perimeter door keys, register keys and personal alarm code

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Applicants must be a Music & Arts retail key holder in good standing, or have 1 to 3 years retail management experience.
    • 3 to 5 years sales, retail, or customer service experience .
    • Well-versed in Music & Arts policy and procedures.
    • Well-versed in Music & Arts product knowledge.
    • Strong understanding of market dynamics and requirements.
    • Prevalent community involvement a plus.

    • Experience

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Regularly required to stand
    • Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • Occasionally required to sit, climb stairs or a ladder
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
    • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; occasionally required to complete tasks outdoors for short periods of time
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and some holidays
    • Minimum travel required
    • Compliance with company attendance standards
