We are seeking an energetic, results-driven Retail Store Manager to oversee the complete operations of our retail store. In this role, you will lead daily store performance, drive revenue growth, manage budgeting and inventory processing, and build a positive, safety-focused work environment. You will play a vital part in upholding Goodwill's mission by managing staff, delivering superior customer and donor experiences, and actively engaging with our local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Financial Management: Direct store operations to consistently meet monthly sales, payroll, and production goals within budget. Manage register balancing, daily banking, change, and expense controls. Partner with the Manager of Retail Operations to align store performance with strategic goals.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and mentor store personnel. Establish clear performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and manage disciplinary actions or terminations in partnership with Human Resources.
- Donor & Customer Experience: Model superior customer service, promptly resolve customer/donor concerns, and ensure a welcoming, clean, and safe shopping environment.
- Production & Inventory Control: Oversee the quality and processing of donated goods, maintain merchandise rotation schedules, and implement loss prevention protocols to secure facility assets.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols, material handling practices, and legal regulations (local, state, and federal). Maintain regular attendance and participate in required safety trainings.
- Regional Mobility: Travel to other Goodwill locations within a four-county area to provide store coverage as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience required.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Business, Retail, Merchandising, or Marketing preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in POS systems, cash registers, security camera equipment, basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, email), and social media platforms.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to lead a diverse workforce.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb for extended periods, and consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of current auto insurance (updated semi-annually).
