Qualification Requirements
Minimum one-year post-secondary academic training in Retail Sales, Merchandising, or Retail Management; or equivalent experience in a Retail setting.
Proficient in general computer applications including internet-based software programs.
Strong Customer Service skills
Positive leadership, managing and training teams
Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Preferred Skills
Excellent organization skills
Strong knowledge and interest in educating customers on native plants and native plant communities
Knowledge of Square Operating Systems
Position Summary
The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations of PRI Retail Store locations and staff. This includes inventory, point of sale systems, online orders, customer service, staff training, scheduling, and supervision. Participate as a PRI representative at shows and conferences as needed. Direct supervision of team members, maintain staffing levels as defined by the Retail Operations Manager, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, development and training, and ensure that all team members act in a way consistent with PRI's core values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Store Management
Define and manage store opening and closing procedures
Scheduling of seasonal employees
Plant care and maintenance
Customer Service
Creation of purchase orders and monitoring of inventory of plants, seeds, trees and shrubs.
Collaboration with the Retail Operations Manager to schedule events, tours, etc. at home store location
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to move objects up to 50 lbs. using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, Constant movement and use of limbs. This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
