A fun, relaxed, friendly store that caters primarily to women who love to create. We are a quilt shop specializing in Sewing, quilting and Machine Embroidery sales and service. Any sewing knowledge you may have is a plus, but not required. Must be willing to learn. We will be looking for someone who is cheerful and personable, can make customers feel welcomed. We are a family-owned business. We offer flexible, full-time work opportunities within a schedule Monday-Saturday. We are military spouse friendly. Paid time off is available after the first six months.
Responsibilities- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales and service
- Assess customer’s needs and provide assistance and information on product features
- Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
- “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
- Maintain stock and ensure a presentable condition in assigned areas
- Actively seek out customers in store
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered to skillfully assist customers
- Gain knowledge of key products, especially sewing machines through on-line and in-store training
- Process POS (point of sale) purchases
- Cross-sell products
- Handle returns of merchandise
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
- Build productive trust relationships with customers
- Comply with inventory control procedures
- Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)
Requirements- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role is a plus
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Proficiency in English
- Basic Math skills
- Familiarity with inventory procedures
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
- Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
- Availability to work flexible shifts
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs
