    Job Description

    The UPS Store Associate is responsible for helping run day-to-day operations for this retail location. He/She may be required to open and close the center, help manage productivity, and ensure world-class customer service delivery of the team. The Associate is involved with profit/loss, continuous improvement, service delivery levels, and business development. The ideal Associate candidate has a high school diploma/GED (college coursework or degree desired), 6 months - 2 years of customer service and sales experience in a retail environment. Point of Sale (POS) and excellent computer/Internet/software knowledge, the physical ability to perform this job (lifting, bending, etc.), and know-how to listen, follow, and lead. Graphic design and production print experience is a plus. The Center Associate will be willing and able to work a flexible/fixed schedule of 25 to 30 hours per week that may span Monday through Sunday.

    Pay is commensurate with UPS Store experience.

    • Consistently greet customers in a friendly manner within 5 seconds; identify customer needs, and offer additional services which could benefit them.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service through customer engagement and quality product delivery.
    • Demonstrates customer service recovery skills.
    • Maintains the correct uniform and the image of the store.
    • Properly promote products and services offered to customers.
    • Be current with all training materials and certifications.
    • Receive, sort, and place mail in mailboxes accurately
    • Fully utilize Mailbox Manager to open and close mailboxes, log packages and other accountable mail, forward mail, and process payments and payment due notifications; following all center policies and applicable laws, including keeping customer data confidential.
    • Record all sales transactions completely and accurately in the Point of Sale System.
    • Pack contents for shipping using established procedures and products.
    • Ability to receive and prepare documents for printing.
    • Develop skill in all other software packages.
    • Ability to complete paid training
    • Receive and process packaged for shipping, including lifting and weighing packages on scale, accessing iShip, generating labels. May require retrieving packages from the customer's vehicle when requested.
    • Process and document shipping damage, late and lost package claims
    • Answers the telephone within 3 rings and assists the customer.
    • Assist in merchandising the center, including stocking shelves with products, ensuring clean and orderly appearance of product, and informing appropriate personnel of inventory levels for re-ordering supplies.
    • Perform end-of-day duties: reconciliation of cash, checks, money orders, credit cards, and all other transactions accurately and in accordance with company policy and procedure.
    • Operate copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, and all other machines in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Help customers operate copiers located in retail areas.
    • Routinely check center e-mail for customer queries and print jobs; follow through as appropriate.
    • Actively assists with general housekeeping duties including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, and emptying of trash.
    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • High school diploma required
    • Highly dependable and trustworthy to OPEN the store on time.
    • Ability to work independently if required
    • Advanced education degree, coursework, or tech school desired
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
    • Able to lift 40 pounds
    • Strong customer service and phone skills and abilities
    • Willing/able to work a 25 to 30 hour-per-week for a 5 - 6 day work week
    • Have the ability to get a Notary
    • Ability to cross-sell and up-sell
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math
