Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Retail Pharmacy Technician, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, ensuring the safe and accurate processing of prescriptions in a highly regulated environment. You will uphold all state and federal regulations, maintain rigorous record-keeping and infection prevention standards, and contribute directly to our commitment to patient safety and operational excellence. This role is essential in supporting licensed pharmacists and ensuring the efficient daily operation of the pharmacy.
Every day, you will:
Process new and refill prescriptions accurately while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations.
Assist pharmacists in preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications with a focus on patient safety and quality.
Process insurance claims, troubleshoot billing issues, and communicate with insurance providers to resolve coverage questions.
Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting patients with prescription pick-up, answering general pharmacy questions, and operating the point-of-sale system.
Receive, stock, rotate, and maintain medication inventory while monitoring expiration dates and ensuring proper storage conditions.
Maintain accurate pharmacy records, support quality assurance initiatives, and identify potential medication or dispensing errors for pharmacist review.
