Are you looking for an opportunity to build your lending expertise while making a meaningful contribution? Our Loan Operations team is seeking a Retail Lending Quality Control Specialist to join them at our main office in Norway, ME.
In this key role, you’ll play an important part in supporting the accuracy, quality, and compliance of our residential and consumer lending processes. You’ll perform pre- and post-closing quality control reviews, helping to ensure that critical loan documentation is accurate and complete throughout the lending lifecycle. You’ll also review and approve appraisals and title commitments, verify final opinions and required riders, and support Loan Operations with FDICIA testing, reporting and compliance efforts.
Key Pieces of the Position:
- Remains informed of current underwriting practices and changes to guidelines.
- Works with appraisal management companies and title attorneys to fix errors.
- Submits loans to Freddie Mac through UCDP website.
- Updates rate locks after an appraisal has been approved.
- Alerts the underwriter of record of any appraisal issues and low values.
- Reviews title commitments for accuracy.
- Reviews final title opinions to ensure they are correct and contain the appropriate riders.
- Monitors and completes all Loan Operation FDICIA controls as necessary.
- Completes independent quality control testing of FRB and FHLBB data for pledge loans to ensure data integrity.
- Performs regulatory quality controls on all flood related documents.
- Performs quarterly compliance testing, per regulation, with supporting documentation and reporting, i.e., FPR, Flood, RESPA, CFPB, etc.
- Assists with researching and addressing results and/or findings of various loan compliance audits and examinations.
- Recommends and or delivers trainings to support FDICIA understanding for business line personnel and ensures satisfactory/timely completion.
- Acts as a liaison for implementation for new or changing servicing regulatory changes.
- Collaborates with compliance team to provide compliance-related support and expertise to servicing and FDICIA specific projects and initiatives.
- Works with Quality Control Team Lead to ensure the Loan Operations servicing team is following laws, regulations and rules governing operations.
What You’ll Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; two years loan servicing, mortgage lending, loan closing or loan processing experience preferred.
- Possesses a solid understanding of financial institution products and services, along with familiarity of back-office systems.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Demonstrates outstanding organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Adept at prioritizing and organizing work flows with consistently good attention to detail
- Possesses excellent written communication skills, including superb letter and report writing abilities.
- Demonstrates consistently good oral communication skills when conversing with customers, along with exhibiting well-founded listening abilities and skills.
- Maintains the ability to work independently while remaining self-motivated.
- Exemplifies a positive and collaborative attitude as part of a dynamic team.

Pay: Starting at $22.00 per hour with flexibility commensurate with experience.
Working Conditions:
