Summary: The Retail Sales Business Analyst brings the best of both worlds: hands-on sales experience and strong analytical capabilities. While this role sits primarily on the analytics and reporting side of the business-focused on creating dashboards, running performance reports, and uncovering actionable insights-your background in sales will be key to understanding the commercial context behind the numbers. This position blends data-driven insights with customer-focused execution, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and knows how to turn insights into action. The ideal candidate is a master in Excel, highly organized, an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, and customer-service minded.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Analytics and Reports
Maintain awareness of performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide regular sales performance updates to leadership
Analyze POS data weekly to identify problematic areas or growth opportunities within retailer accounts
Utilize vendor portals such as Lowe's Vendor Gateway and Home Depot Supplier Hub to extract and interpret performance metrics, compliance reports, and operational data
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor sell-through rates, inventory levels, and promotional effectiveness
Support demand planning efforts by collaborating with supply chain and sales teams to ensure accurate forecasts and alignment with retail inventory needs.
Customer Engagement and Merchandising
Engage with retail support teams (IPR, Space Planning, Merchandising, etc.) to resolve issues promptly and proactively bring solutions to drive to sales
Partner with account managers to prepare and/or participate in customer meetings and presentations
Sales Team Support:
Track and communicate ongoing projects and initiatives involving retailers to account managers, executives, and field teams
Provide support for the implementation of new programs and initiatives.
Create and deliver compelling presentations using PowerPoint to support sales initiatives and retailer meetings
Brand Champion:
Represent Woodgrain at trade shows, customer events and meetings as needed
Act as a brand ambassador, promoting product excellence and company values at all external engagements.
Organization, prioritization, and communication:
Sets an effective and efficient schedule for meetings, travel, and office time.
Completes all action items in a timely manner.
Response times are quick and show a sense of urgency.
Takes time for self and professional development.
Communicates well across all business functions to satisfy customer needs.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not a prerequisite. Relevant experience of at least 3-5 years, unless currently in another role within our organization.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Candidate should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Attention to detail a must. Outside sales reps must have time management skills, be self-motivated, be able to build relationships, and always maintain a positive attitude. Customer facing roles require maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
