Job Title: Retail AssociateFLSA Status: Non-ExemptHours/Schedule: Thursday (10:30-5:00), Friday (10:30-6:00) and Sunday (11:00-4:00)Department/Location: Thrift Store/BridgehamptonPURPOSE:This position is responsible for helping the manager of the thrift store conduct the daily operation of the Retreat Boutique Thrift Store on a part time basis, including communicating and interacting with volunteers and customers, helping out with sorting donations, facilitating a safe and healthy working and shopping environment, providing excellent customer service, and generating positive net income for the agency.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Independently run the store on given days as needed or in concert with the Store ManagerMaintain a positive working/shopping environment. Ensure store maintenance. Help oversee all aspects of receiving/sorting/cleaning/evaluating donations (clothing, accessories, shoes) Manage paperwork and depositing register receipts on days worked.Communicate with the Thrift Store manager on daily activities at the store.Develop a positive presence in the community to promote the agency.Other duties as assigned.*ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:Reports to the Thrift Store ManagerQUALIFICATIONS: Must be able available to work weekends and holidaysEnglish and Spanish speaking preferredAbility to lift heavy objects (40+ lbs)Background in fashion retail preferredAbility to multi-task and work with a variety of people in a busy environmentStrong positive interpersonal skillsValid drivers licenseKnowledge of thrift store operations a plus WORKING CONDITIONS:Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hoursMay lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally.Working at least 19.5 hours per weekHourly Rate: $22.00 per hourOTHER DUTIES:Every effort has been made to make agency job descriptions as complete as possible.
