Job Summary
The position of Retail Associate is responsible for greeting all customers in a friendly and courteous way, selling merchandise, maintaining a neat and tidy store while also assisting customers with all questions and requests.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Energetically welcome customers and provide a friendly, courteous shopping experience
- Assist customers in selecting products and escort them to desired merchandise locations
- Maintain knowledge of store merchandise to answer questions and make recommendations
- Drives sales through engagement of customers and suggestive selling
- Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest
- Operate the register and POS system
- Manage financial transactions
- Documents sales by creating or updating customer profile records
- Upsell merchandise at appropriate times
- Maintain a clean and organized store
- Perform inventory and assist with stock organization
- Alerts management of potential security issues
- All other duties as assigned
