Retail Assistant Manager - High Plainz Strains of Fort Lupton

High Plainz Strains is hiring a full-time Retail Assistant Manager for our location in Fort Lupton!

General Info:

The Assistant Manager serves as Manager-on-Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, helps direct the retail team, handles cash and product accountability, and makes sure the store is operating safely, efficiently and in compliance with Colorado cannabis regulations.

The right candidate will have experience in retail, customer service, cash handling or shift leadership and be comfortable taking responsibility when the manager is not on site. Previous retail management experience is strongly preferred, and cannabis experience is helpful but not required.

Pay: Competitive salary. Starting at $19/ hr, DOE with an extra average $3.00 -$5.00 per hour earned in tips

Schedule: Store operations are from 8:00am - 10:00pm. Full time position, regularly scheduled 35+ hours per week across five shifts. Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays.

Basic Functions of the Job:

• Serve as Manager-on-Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, including regular opening and closing responsibilities
• Supervise budtenders and front desk staff to ensure strong customer service and sales performance
• Open and close the dispensary, including drawer counts and end-of-day cash reporting
• Perform accurate cash handling, tracking, and required documentation
• Process discounts, and pricing issues within the POS system
• Address escalated customer service issues professionally and effectively
• Ensure compliance with all MED regulations, state cannabis laws, and company SOPs
• Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and customer-ready sales floor
• Delegate tasks and support staff performance throughout each shift
• Count, record, and distribute employee tips accurately, including front desk allocations

Ideal Skills and Experience:

• Ability to work full-time with open availability, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado cannabis badge
• Proven ability to accurately handle cash, including drawer counts and documentation
• Experience working in a retail environment requiring accuracy, accountability, and adherence to procedures
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide direction and address issues professionally
• Comfortable enforcing company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrates high ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism
