Position Summary:

The Restorative Practices Program Specialist will provide comprehensive and culturally competent restorative restorative practices support to secondary schools designed to ensure the academic success of students, reduce disproportionate discipline, and promote positive climate and culture. This position provides research, professional development, and support to administrators, teachers, and support staff. They perform a full range of leadership duties and responsibilities by

supporting schools as they work to implement and uphold the tenets of Restorative Justice throughout the district.

Job Group: Licensed Wage Placement Table

Salary:

PLEASE NOTE: North Clackamas Schools is negotiating the licensed contract for the 26-27 school year. Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year:

  • Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education, experience.
  • This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date.
  • Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment.
  • As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive:
  • A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).
  • A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.

Retirement Plan Contribution:

North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a degree in either a counselor or teacher certification program at an accredited college or university, and valid state certification (TSPC).
  • At least one year experience working in a diverse school setting, with an understanding of the tenets of Restorative Practices.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a culturally diverse environment, or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
  • Experience that demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, work independently with sound judgment and decision making capability.
  • Experience that demonstrates excellent written communication skills and which demonstrates the ability to compose and proof correspondence.
  • Knowledge and skill in writing, developing and preparing formal and informal reports.
  • Ability to interpret written/oral directives and to apply District rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, recognize, and protect highly confidential Information.
  • Ability to utilize office technology to document assigned work, to include data systems and the Google suite of applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record and be able and willing to operate district-owned vehicles.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of a Restorative Practices framework in schools.
  • Provide restorative support for identified schools and staff as needed.
  • Model facilitation and support services for escalated cases as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with administrators, district office staff, HSS coordinators, counselors, deans and other building level staff.
  • Lead, participate in, and/or support restorative practices trainings for staff.
  • Create and update new and existing restorative practices support materials.
  • Create new professional development materials/agendas.
  • Deliver professional development and coaching.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for Restorative Practices in NCSD. Align Restorative Practices with the district's values, mission, vision, equity stance, and strategic plan
  • Initiate, promote and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, guardians, staff, admin, and community partners.
  • Provide support for regular review of discipline and implementation data at the school and district level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in providing lead or supervisory responsibility over other staff.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural, ethnic, gender, and religious diversity of students, staff, parents and community.
  • Understanding of state and district policy regarding discipline procedures and protocols.
  • Experience using data to inform educational practice and strategies on a district and school level.
  • Bilingual preferred.
